Staring Into Oblivion

  • Staring Into Oblivion waterscape photograph taken in Madeira Island
I bought a new filter! Finally, my first real Neutral Density filter, I’ve always wanted one of these! They’re much harder to use than I thought. This one is so dark that my camera can’t focus with it attached to the lens, and I can’t see a thing through the viewfinder! Well, to be fair, the day was pretty dark itself and it was just about to rain, so maybe that’s why… Anyway, I took a bunch of photos, just playing with it a bit, and this is the only one that I like. lol Still have a lot to learn but i’ll get there! ๐Ÿ˜€

I have a question for you: Do you prefer Long Exposures or Short Exposures?

    1. ๐Ÿ˜€ Well done matey!!! I see the inspiration keeps going on strong, your latest photos are all really amazing! As for your question, it really depends…When there is water in the scene a long exposure can really enhance the feeling of it and also for city lights and stuff… P.s. I need to finally buy an ND filter as well…

      • Thank you so much Alex! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m going to try to keep the quality up as much as possible!
I love long exposures, they just feel so peaceful and serene, i don’t know, there’s this surreal feeling that i can’t quite explain! But short exposures can be great as well, i love them both hahah! ๐Ÿ˜€
Yes you should definitely buy one, if you need any help picking one let me know, i have researched these filters for months ๐Ÿ™‚

      • It’s fun to use but only when the weather allows, and that’s what annoys me sometimes! I want to go out and it starts raining as soon as i step a foot out the door lol Thanks a lot Jason, you also have a great site!! ๐Ÿ˜€

What do you think? Let's hear it! :)
