My Blair Witch Project – Day 1 (gallery)

I don’t know if you remember this or not, but two years ago I edited a couple of photos to look like the Blair Witch Project and it was very successful! Well not here, but Google seems to like that post, I get a few views from it pretty much every day and I saw my photo used in a presentation for school that a girl made, which I thought was kinda cool! It was two years ago, so I don’t really remember what she wrote about it… but she credited me! That doesn’t happen very often nowadays lol

Anyway, a few days ago a friend of mine asked me if I was ever going to edit photos like that again. I said something like “nuh-uh! Why?” and she said that she likes the film and the photos! I was surprised since most people I know say that the film is crap, which leads me to ask them why they think it’s crap, and their response is almost always this: “Dude there was no witch there, are you crazy? it was the crew members making noise and throwing stuff at the tent! It was huh… what’s the fruit… ah walnuts! Just sound effects and shaky cameras, oooooh! And that ending, pfff!! So she fell down the stairs and the camera breaks, the end. So lame man!” Okay this quote may not be 100% accurate. My response to these critics is pretty much always the same: “Dude, it’s a movie!!” But I digress!

Anyway, so my friend asked/demanded that I edit a few more photos like those previous ones, which I did and now I’m posting them here! My favourite part of the film is in B&W so these photos are all in B&W. Maybe next time I’ll add a few colour shots if I can get them to look similar to the film, we’ll see! The film has very low contrast during the day and lots of contrast at night, the camera is always moving and things get blurry and out of focus a lot. At night they use a camera light to see where they’re going so the photos I took at night all have flash.

Anyway that’s it, If you like these photos make sure to say thanks to my friend Leni! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also hope you enjoy the film and that these photos make you want to get lost in the woods or at the very least watch the Blair Witch Project again! ๐Ÿ˜€ And if you like the film, comment so we can discuss the crew members and the flying walnuts! ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. That movie was hilarious; my wife and I were laughing throughout the entire thing — mostly because it wasn’t scary and partly because it was filmed close to where we live (we recognized a number of the locals that were used as extras).

    • I thought it was very scary, I watched it when i was 6 or so and it scared me so much that i never wanted to go camping! And it scared me years later all over again! Funny thing is did go camping and started hearing weird noises at night and the first thing that came to mind was the Blair Witch Project. I don’t think the movie is funny at all, but everyone is entitled to an opinion ๐Ÿ™‚ I really like the location, it’s eerie but beautiful.

What do you think? Let's hear it! :)
