Fury of the Storm (gallery)

We had a thunder storm a few days ago! I’ve never seen anything like it, it was so awesome! lol
It started happening during sunset, the Sun went down and these giant clouds started forming out of nowhere! I don’t even know how to explain it πŸ˜€ Naturally, my instinct was to pick up my camera and tripod and go to an open space to photograph it! πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy these photos! πŸ™‚ I have more that I might upload soon, i took some photos of the clouds forming too but haven’t taken a closer look at them yet. I will soon! πŸ™‚

Have a great week! πŸ˜€

  1. I have seen a lot of thunderstorm pictures; storms being an obsession, these storms are the best I have seen as you have captured the pure power that happens within, also the clouds have a beautiful structure. I would have loved to have been there.

  2. Wow! these are the best! I hope you were wearing rubber boots or better yet inside a car. Take care my friend.

What to do if outdoors during lightning:

In the forest: Retreat to a group of small trees surrounded by taller trees or find a dry, low area like a depression or ravine. Avoid lone trees and other tall objects as well as rocky outcrops and ledges.
In an open area: Look for a dry, low-lying area such as a valley and become the smallest target possible. Do this by crouching down with your heels touching, head between the knees, and ears covered. Minimize your contact with the ground and do not lie down flat.
Anywhere outdoors: You can take shelter in a car or other safe shelter, but not a tent. In all cases, avoid bodies of water and areas that have high flash flood potential.

What do you think? Let's hear it! :)
